Hi! Here it is my review about Mac Heroine Lipstick. Heroine firstly launched with Reel Sexy collection, in 2012. I’ve been lucky enough to find it in my store months after its launch. It has been repromoted this year, with Fashion Sets collection along with Heroine Lipglass, Lip Liner and Eyeshadow (which doesn’t match lip stuff, though).

Heroine lipstick has a matte finish, but it’s a kind of “new” matte, more comfortable on lips than previous releases. Heroine is really creamy, but thanks to its finish satiny-matte you have no worry about bleeding, plus it goes on easy on lips. It has a really opaque coverage, as you can see from my swatch (it’s only one wipe).

Colour is a balanced purple and you can see how it appears warmer or cooler under different lights, so I think it may go well with both cool and warm skintones. I wouldn’t say it is a “difficult” lipstick; of course, with it you’ll have statement lips and you can’t be afraid of colour, but I still find it really wearable.

You can pair it with Heroine Lip Liner, of course, but Magenta Lip Liner is pretty similar and it’s perfect with it as well. Lasting power is great, just like any other Mac matte lipstick: it stays on perfect for about 7-8 hours and it leaves a nice stain when it fades.
