London Fashion Week 2013 Highlights

London Fashion Week 2013 has just ended so we are now able to figure out what clothes we will see in the shopping windows the next spring-summer season, or at least what trends will be on top. My idea of fashion is that we are not fashion victimes, we’re not passive elements on which brands can do and undo; we’re not mannequins, we don’t deserve being manipulated because we are human being with our personal concepts of beauty, fashion and style.

Stylists express their creativity, their art, their point of view as they want; the choice of follow their ideas is up to us. Fashion should be a way to show the world who we are and there’s no one who can told us who or how we have to be.

So, in this post you’ll see only stylists and creations I liked that are in line with my idea of style of this London Fashion Week 2013. So you may not see some top designers in this post since I chose to show only what I liked the most.

I’m not fond of world of fashion, too many controversies and too many things with which I disagree, still I love fashion – read clothes, style – itself. And these are my personal highlights from London Fashion Week 2013. House of Holland has a strong retro allure, with 50’s dresses and floral patterns; Mary Katrantzou plays with colourful fantasy patterns and unusual volumes. Meadham Kirchoff dreams about a girl with a dollish attitude but with a disturbing touch, think about a gothic lolita killer… Tom Ford choose a strong woman with statement mini dress, rich of metallic details, leather and lace for a urban dark look. Vivienne Westwood is the best designer of these London Fashion Week 2013, when art and smartness unite you get this; take a look at these pictures: no words are necessary.
