This Fall 2013, Nars cosmetics came out with two limited edition palettes: Fairy’s Kiss and Ride Up to the Moon. Both palettes are quite neutral based, Fairy’s Kiss contains all cool colours, while Ride Up to the Moon is definitely warmer.
My review is about Fairy’s Kiss which I chose because you all know my unconditional love for taupey colours. I maybe waited too much to review this palette since it’s already sold out on Nars official website, but you can be lucky enough to find it in some retailers, it’s still avaible at Nordstrom for example.
Fairy’s Kiss contains 6 shades: Manosque, Kalahari, Brousse, Tokyo, Brumes and Pandora (left to right and top to bottom); they’re all permanent except for Manosque which is a limited edition shade.
I’m so happy that I managed to purchase this palette since it’s contains all those shades I like the most in Nars duo eyeshdows.
The shades are all among taupe, mauve, purplish and greyish tones, with a pale pink and a matte black to complete. So you can go for an extremely natural look and a deep smoky eyes.
All shades have great colour payoff – except the Pandora black, go for Urban Decay if you want a very pigmented black – and good staying power: they last on me without a base for about 7-8 hours before I notice some fading.
Let’s see shades in detail:
- Manosque is a warm pink with tiny shimmers; it’s the same tone of my skintone
- Kalahari is a caramel-beige leading to taupe
- Brousse is a dark taupe with plummy undertones
- Tokyo is a so unusual shade, a light mauvey lavender taupe
- Brumes is a foggy grey
- Pandora is a matte black
L-R Manosque, Kalahari, Brousse
L-R Tokyo, Brumes, Pandora
If I think about a complete, basic palette, the one you can use for every occasion, I’d say this is that palette. Of course, if you want some colours on you’ll need something else 😉
The only downside about the Fairy’s Kiss palette is that it’s really tiny compared to the price (€42): you can see it next to my smartphone. Nevertheless, it’s handy and perfect for travelling.

Baciii
whatsinmybag è la At First Sight giusto?
