Celosia Orange – Spring Summer 2014 Colour Trend
Another post in Colour Trend series. This time we’ll talk about Celosia Orange 17-1360, chosen by Pantone as a colour trend for spring summer 2014.
Celosia Orange is a pure, vitaminic orange. Celosia is a small genus ornamental plants in the Amaranthaceae family. The Celosia name is derived from the Greek kelos, which means burned and refers to the flowers that are flame-shaped.
I think that this Celosia Orange could be well paired with Radiant Orchid, colour of the year 2014, since orange and fuchsia are always a good match.
Here it is some Celosia Orange fashion and beauty inspirations. When it comes to make up, orange could be a really difficult colour to pull off, especially if you have fair skin and a cool undertone. For those who wants to experiment it may be easier choosing an orange shade for your nails, but I must confess: I like orange nails only on dark beauties or with a tan. I picked up two high end choices: Marc Jacobs Nail Glaze in Enamored and Deborah Lippmann Lara’s Theme from a collaboration with Lara Stone. Orange blushes works well with a warm skintones, try some cream or fluid blushers for summer such as NYX Rouge Cream Blush and Daniel Sandler Watercolour Fluid Blusher in Trip (here you can see along with its fuchsia soulmate Acid, they’re also sold as a duo). Are you feeling brave? Dare to wear Morange from MAC Cosmetics or, if you prefer something easier and affordable, Topshop Pout Lip Cream. As fashion inspirations try some summer’s staples: wedges and shorts in Celosia Orange colour trend.
