L’Oreal Nude Magique Eau de Teint
The other day I reviewed Giorgio Armani Maestro Foundation and now I’m going to review L’Oreal Nude Magique Eau de Teint. This will be a single review about this specific foundation but I’m going to do a comparison post where I’ll point out all similarities and differences about these foundations so you’ll finally find out if they’re dupes or not.
L’Oreal Nude Magique Eau de Teint foundation is a liquid foundation, claimed to be light. This is the L’Oreal lightest foundation formula ever.
This is its official statement:
A feather light foundation, L’Oréal Paris Nude Magique Eau de Teint Foundation SPF 18 feels as light and fresh as water. Instantly fuses with the skin blending seamlessly to leave a silky, second skin effect.
– Perfect bare skin look
– Naturally even, shine free look.
– Undetectable coverage.
– Silky soft touch.
– No make-up feel.
Well, L’Oreal Nude Magique Eau de Teint is not really a water based foundation such as MAC Cosmetics Face and Body (which is also thicker). Because even it feels lightweight and fresh as water, it contains a large amount of silicones. Here it is complete ingredients’ list:
DIMETHICONE, CYCLOHEXASILOXANE, ISODODECANE, ALCOHOL DENAT., VINYL DIMETHICONE/METHICONE SILSESQUIOXANE CROSSPOLYMER, ETHYLHEXYL METHOXYCINNAMATE,PHENYL TRIMETHICONE, ACRYLATES/POLYTRIMETHYLSILOXYMETHACRYLATE COPOLYMER, PEG-10 D I M E T H I C O N E , D I S T E A R D IMON I UM H E C T O R I T E , A Q U A / WATER, PROPYLENE CARBONATE, DISODIUM STEAROYL GLUTAMATE, ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE, [+/- MAY CONTAIN: C I 77891 / TITANIUM DIOXIDE, C I 7 7 4 9 1 , C I77492, CI 77499 / IRON OXIDES] (FIL B160492/2).
As you can see, water is only at the end of ingredients’ list. Texture is really, I mean really runny and you have to shake well the glass bottle. Oh well, let’s talk about packaging. This bottle is devil. It doesn’t have a plump nor a spout nor a dropper. It is simply a nightmare. It’s almost impossible not to spread foundation all around your face, bathroom, mirror, etc. You have to be extremely careful to avoid a mess. Of course, there’s a lot of waste of product because of its running texture which go everywhere.
Despite this horrible packaging, L’Oreal Nude Magique Eau de Teint is a good foundation. It’s really lightweight and leaves a natural finish, not too matte not too dewy. It has a light coverage but it’s buildable up to medium. It lasts well even during a hot day.
The big downside for me is colour range. The lightest colour – Porcelain n° 100 – is still a bit darker than my skin and I have to blend it really well along my neck and jawline to avoid any dark streak.
Of course, MAC Face and Body N1, not NW15…
I recommend to avoid using any sponge or beauty blenders because they absorb too much product. You can use your fingers or Real Techniques Expert Face brush.
I didn’t experience any breakout even if I have combination and acne prone skin. When you have skin problems and you want to use liquid, silicones based foundation you have to pay a lot of attention to your skincare and deep cleaning.
