MAC It’s not easy having a good time Pigment – Rocky Horror Picture Show Collection
Today I want to talk about my latest purchase: MAC It’s Not Easy Having A Good Time Pigment.
I previously talked about the launch of MAC Rocy Horror Picture Show Collection here and I’ve already said how excited I am about this collection. I can’t think about a more ideal collaboration, indeed. I love MAC Cosmetics and I love Rocky Horror Picture Show, so this collection made me really happy. Here in Italy this collection came in a confused way. MAC Rocky Horrir Picture Show collection first appeared on Italian website a couple of weeks ago but only for a few hours: everything went sold out in less than three hours and they took it off immediately. Right now we don’t know if we’re going to see it online again, someone says it will be available on October 23th but who knows. However I managed to see it in stores last week and I was able to get MAC It’s Not Easy Having A Good Time Pigment despite all pre-orders. This collection is available only at selected stores and where I saw it, a lot of things were already sold out, such as Frank ‘n’ Furter lipstick (I so wanted to get it… damn).
By the way I’m not regretting my purchase. Aside from Frank ‘n’ Furter, other lipsticks didn’t call my name. Other items are in permanent collection and I simply couldn’t resist to MAC It’s Not Easy Having A Good Time Pigment’s amazing colour.
I really do like MAC Pigments. I have a quite nice collection (post coming soon!) and I find them so versatile and with top notch quality. I can recall how in 2006 everyone was crazy about MAC Pigments. Now it’s all about lipsticks, but I do think that they deserve some attentions!
MAC It’s Not Easy Having A Good Time Pigment comes in a special packaging. I’m not a sucker for this kind of stuff but since it’s Rocky Horror Picture Show I think I’ll even treasure the box!
MAC recently changed Pigments‘ packaging. People used to complain about the huge quantity so they now come in a smaller packaging (4.5g) for the same price tag. I can’t deny how disappointed I am: Pigments are multi-purpose products that last a lifetime. I know that I have old full sizes that seem barely touched but I so much preferred that old value.
MAC It’s Not Easy Having A Good Time Pigment is described as a sparkling burgundy. I see it as a shimmering red with strong burgundy and rust undertones and magenta reflects. Even if it’s one of those glittery pigments, its texture is quite smooth. Colour payoff is excellent and it doesn’t feel gritty when blended out. I thought it could be similar to Heritage Rouge but the latter is darker, less warm, less sparkly, more burgundy and maroon, plus it has a special texture since it was part of Overrich collection. I also compared MAC It’s Not Easy Having A Good Time Pigment to other burgundy shades: compared to Nabla Cosmetics Daphne, MAC It’s Not Easy Having A Good Time Pigment is a lot lighter and warmer with a stronger rust undertone, while Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream n°17 is more burgundy, darker and cooler.
