Stella Jean AW15-16 – #MFW
So, Milan Fashion Week has just started. Milan is a beautiful city, rich in historical and artistic landmarks. It would be great if you could spend a little time to enjoy these wonderful sites for replenishing your eyes and your spirit not only with glamour fashion shows but also with art through the ages, i.e. art history which is indeed human history.
Stella Jean AW 15-16 opened this fashion week at beautiful Arengario Palace (where you can visit permanent Museo del Novecento exposition). With Stella Jean you know you’re going to enjoy an adventorous trip around the world. This time we travel to Indian Himalayan region.
I attended the backstage beauty thanks to MAC Cosmetics where Senior Artist Michele Magnani tells us about this collection’s inspiration and the beauty look he created.
Michele Magnani states that
Stella Jean’s collection is always a travel without taking the plane. She gives you the opportunity to know and doing your research about unusual and understated worlds and contexts.
We said that this ispiration is metro-Himalayan style. Michele Magnani and MAC Cosmetics Pro team tell us about the strength of cold and winter through make up. All those things which are aggressive towards skin become a new beauty instrument. Focus is on skin, as for all the most recent fashion shows. A flawless, yet natural and transparent base (Face and Body foundation) playing with effects on top. Usually we want to cover up these natural effects but now we create and emphasize them. So, flawless skin with highlighting on cheekbones and cupid’s bow with Cream Colour Base in Pearl contrast with the artificial irritation around the eyes. This effect is created with Groundwork Paint Pot, a light earthy tone, to give more intensity to eyes; on top they added Pinch O Peach Powder Blush to give redness around the eyes, at the top and bottom of lashline. On nose and apple of the cheeks theys used Posey Cremeblend Blush dabbed and tapped with 130 dual-fibre brush: this creates the effect of a beauty rosacea, with redness all around the centre of the face. On the lips they used the new product with which everyone is excited about, the new Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick which is going to be launched next season. It is completely matte and long lasting, they chose the most natural colour Lady-Be-Good. Another important focus is on brows: they are defined hair by hair with 205 fan brush and powder eyeshadows in various colours to create a hyper-natural ombré effect.
Hair styling is by Elia Piatto. Nails by Antonio Sacripante for Morgan Taylor.
In this look there is a mix of textures: matte for eyes and lips and creamy, dewy for complexion. The result is extremely youthful and fresh, it makes you think about a little girl with sensitive skin running out in the cold.
According to Michele Magnani,
fashion is telling us to be ourselves with all our natural flaws. We don’t have to be afraid to be natural since all those little imperfections are emphasized. There is also a big trend to mix different textures in order to play a little more wiith beauty and fashion.
