Vita Liberata Capture the Light

Today’s post is about a kind of product you don’s see frequently on Kenderasia. However you may have spotted it here and here.

I’m talking about Vita Liberata Capture the Light Illuminating Skin Finish in Latte Light*. I’m a fair skinned girl who doesn’t tan. Ever. I seriously have a lot of problems in spending my time sunbathing because my skin is very sensitive to UV rays and I always get bad reactions. So I always avoid tanning and I always use a very high sunscreen protection all over the year.

However I have a little issue. My face is around a NW15 (I’m using MAC Cosmetics standard as reference) while my legs – which don’t see any kind of light for almost 10 months a year – are way lighter. Maybe less than a N8. They’re really white and almost translucent. I really don’t mind being a porcelain beauty – I honestly like it a lot – but what I can’t stand is the colour gap. It is the same thing when I get a wrong colour foundation, I simply hate not being of a uniform colour.

Then I read about Vita Liberata Capture the Light and it seemed the right product for me. I don’t need a selftan, but an illuminating product with a hint of tint to match my face. Unfortunately it is not available in my country but Italian PR was so kind to send it to me from UK.

I’ve tried this product for a month and let me say that I love it. It really changed my (summer) life. I’d describe it as a BB cream for body. It is available in various colours and finishes: there are two ‘tanned’ colours (Latte and Latte Light) and one for enhance fair skins without adding a tint (Buttermilk). These have an opaque finish, i.e. they don’t have noticeable shimmers even if the result is really radiant. Then there are Capture the Light Rose and Capture the Light Gold which have shimmering micro-particles. The former is perfect for pale skin while the ladder is more suitable for already tanned skins. I thought that Latte Light could be perfect for my needs but I’m intrigued as well by Buttermilk and Rose! I hope they will be available at Italian Sephora soon.

Vita Liberata Capture the Light Latte Light has a lightweight texture, a mix of liquid and an extremely soft mousse. What I like the most about this product is its colour. I feared that it could be too dark or orangey. Fortunately its colour has honey and caramel tones, very similar to a biscuit tone. The intensity is perfect for a fair-light skin since it adds only a bit of delicate colour. I only use two little pumps for each leg and the colour I get is extremely similar to my face and arms: it’s just like my legs have seen some natural light during the year. But if you prefer a more intense result, like a sunkissed look, you can build up the product and it still looks extremely natural. No one can guess it is not your natural colour. It blends easily into the skin without leaving marks or harsh lines: I am a complete novice when it comes to self tan but I also spread it like a normal bodycream and I get a perfectly even result.

It has some refreshening properties and it doesn’t smudge at all, even in the heat when I was completely sweaty. It also have a SPF25 which is a good protection even in the city.

Here it is complete ingredients list:
