Spring 2014 Skincare Routine

As I previously said in my April 2014 beauty favourites post I don’t ever talk about skincare products in that kind of post. Mainly because I don’t switch very often my skincare products but I prefer sticking to a few products at a time. So I thought it would be better a Spring 2014 Skincare Routine post. A quick recap about my skin: I’m acne prone with combination skin. Recently I’ve had some breakouts problems due to hormones issue but I found that manuka honey heals my skin so fast that I chose mainly manuka based products for my most recent skincare routine.

So here it is my daily Spring 2014 Skincare Routine.

In the morning I start with Natural Being Manuka Cleanser for Dry Skin. As I said I have combination skin but in some cases I prefer products for dry skin since those one for oily skin are too drying for my face. Of course I have to read carefully ingredient list to make sure there’s no occlusive component; for example my skin reacts very very badly to rosehip oil. I use this cleanser with Clarisonic Mia (review). It’s cleansing milk very delicate and pleasant on sensitive skin. It could be not so effective on its own, especially if you have oilier skin so you may prefer a foaming cleanser. It smells a bit strange, I wouldn’t say it is good but it’s tolerable. It leaves your skin smooth and soft.

The I use Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream. I instantly fell in love with this eye cream. It’s deeply nourishing and make my eye area well hydrated. Even if it’s not lightweight it doesn’t leave your skin greasy.

While I leave the eye cream absorbing into skin I apply REN Hydra-Calm Youth Defence Serum all over my face. My skincare routine dramatically changed when Lisa Eldridge mentioned that she prefers serums over moisturizers. For my skin she’s absolutely right. Serums are so much more deeply effective and they’re lighter on my skin. I love REN serums (here it is another one), this one is for sensitive skin. Now it’s called Evercalm Anti-Redness Serum but it’s the same product as before.

At the end I use a sunscreen: this one is Bioderma Photoderm Minéral SPF 50+.

In the evening I take off my make up with Living Nature Gentle Makeup Remover. It’s perfect for sensitive eyes and even if it’s not a biphasic make up remover it takes off all strong make up with a couple of cotton pads. It leaves your skin hydrated and calm. It does contain manuka honey so your skin will remain pure and blemish free.

A quick wash with Natual Being Manuka Cleanser and I finally apply a tiny amount of Living Nature Manuka Honey Gel, a manuka honey concentrate which gets rid of all of my spots and blemishes overnight.

So, this is my Spring 2014 Skincare Routine 🙂 it’s not an overload of products but when it comes to skincare I think it’s better stick only to essentials.
