It was ages I wanted to try something from Burberry beauty. Burberry is my beloved brand: I feel it so “mine” in its style, it reflects my idea of beauty and fashion.

It was also ages I wanted to try some traditional foundations: in last years I only used mineral foundation and oriental bb creams. I love both of them but I was really curious about these new formulas which are coming out (Burberry but also Giorgio Armani, Ysl etc…).

Burberry range comes in two foundation types: Sheer Foundation Trench and Velvet Foundation Trench. The first one has a light (buildable) coverage and the latter has more medium buildable to high coverage.

At the corner there was Rita Fiorentino, the well known and talented make up artist. She’s been so kind that she offered not only to try Velvet foundation on, but she did a complete makeover.

She did my base with Velvet foundation (my match is 202), then she add ah highlightning concealer under the eye area and around my nose. She filled my eyebrows and she used the same brown pencil as a base on my eyes. She used Mulberry Sheer Eye Shadow n°24 – a plummy taupe – all over my lid, then she blend a light taupe all over my entire eye to create a soft sheered smoky effect. She lined my eyes with a plum eyeliner, then finsihed with mascara.

She wiped on my cheekbones a warm apricot blush (I think it was Russet mixed with Tangerine). On my lips she put the new Lip Velvet in Pink Azalea n°208, a deep plummy cherry.

I’ve been so pleased of this experience and I liked so much the final look: I was so natural and sophisitcated at the same time, a real classy British look.
