Colourpop haul from UK reseller
Let’s talk about Colourpop cosmetics: I was lemming this indie US brand products for a long time but unfortunately there was no European reseller for a while. Luckly I’ve recently discovered House of Beauty UK reseller which has a good Colourpop range selection and ships to Italy. Right now Colourpop cosmetics US site ships internationally and I’ve just got my parcel from the official site but that’s another story (hint: I’ll tell you about the gorgeous fall edit in a following post).
So, this post is about my very first Colourpop haul. I was rather overwhelmed by the huge colour range. I’ve always read enthusiastic reviews about Super Shock eyeshadows and Ultra Matte lip so I tought I’d better get some of them.
Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadow Kathleenlights Where the Night is Collection
Colourpop x Kathleenlights Where the Night is Collection is the eyeshadow set I loved the most from online swatches. Of course, the price increase is huge compared to US official site. Nevertheless, these unique eyeshadows have the greatest quality, hands down. Plus, the original price is unbeatable. The best thing about these Colourpop palettes is that they’re not really a palette: it’s a set made of 4 single Super Shock eyeshadows in their own pot. Let’s talk about the texture: it’s not a cream eyeshadow nor a powder. It’s more similar to a bouncy cushion. The colour payoff is terrific. I’ve never seen such a great pigmentation and true-to-pan colour before. There’s no fall out and the colour sticks to the eyelid even without a base. The best way to apply them is with your own fingers but I love them applied with my brushes as well. The staying power is stunning: I got a +14 hours without any fading. No eyeshadow base needed.
The colours is this set are soooo beautiful. There are:
- Porter: a velvety burgundy with tons of fine milled micro gold shimmers.
- Telepathy: a super bright and intense gold with a cool underton, leaning towards acid green.
- Midnight: it’s described as a black based with a ton of gold glitters. I get an extremely shimmering warm pewter.
- Weenie: frosty, metallic rose gold.
Colourpop Ultra Matte lip Bumble
Ultra matte liquid lipstick with a velvet finish are a huge trend for a while and Americans do it better. I’ve tried Lime Crime, Kat Von D, Anastasia Beverly Hills, MAC… imho Kat Von D makes the better matte liquid lipsticks. Followed by Colourpop Ultra Matte lip. They’re cheap, they come in a huge colour range, they have a thin texture, they dry in a super matte finish quickly, they do not transfer, they last even after a meal without budging, they are really comfortable on lips. As my first Ultra Matte lip I chose Bumble, a super nice berry shade with a warm undertone. It falls under the “my lips but better” range. The colour is extremely intense, it goes with anything and it’s perfect for every occasion, from work-office to a cocktail, to a not too crazy night out.
