DIY Surf Spray
Today’s post is about how to do a DIY Surf Spray, a cheap and easy dupe for Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray for getting wavy hair, just like you spent all day at the beach. No chemicals nor silicones, only natural ingredients you can easily get everywhere.
Recently I was drooling over the infamous Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray. But itn’s not excatly cheap for what it is if you know what I mean. Then, I saw on the web some DIY Surf Spray recipes, so I wanted to do one by myself. Below you can find my recipe for a DIY Surf Spray. The basic ingredients are salt, coconut oil, citrus essential oil and aloe vera.
I don’t know if Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray creates beachy waves but it’s what it is supposed to do. What I know is that my Surf Spray version gives a lot of texture to my hair which aren’t really wavy thought not straight; with this spray I have a lot of volume and waves are enhanced, just like if I spent an entire day at the beach. Imho you should give it a try
Here it is my recipe for a low cost, easy DIY Surf Spray:
*for a 200ml spray bottle*
- 25 ml bamboo hydrolized water (optional, you can add the hydrolized water you prefer or simply water but bamboo is really good for your hair, since it makes them look like silk)
- 3 tbs sea salt
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 2 tsp aloe vera gel
- 30 drops citrus essential oil
- 1 cup hot water
