Freesia – Spring Summer 2014 Colour Trend
Todays’ post is about Freesia, spring summer 2014 colour trend as stated by Pantone. Freesia 14-0852 takes its name from Freesia flower, in the family of Iridaceae. It is native to southern Africa. There are a lot of hybrids under Freesia‘s species. Flowers are amazingly fragrant and are funnel shaped.
Freesia colour is a really warm yellow, nothing neon but still bright and really comforting and restful to eyes. I tried to put together some colour inspirations from fashion and beauty world. Since this is a bright colour might appear scaring to some people but I think that choosing some accessories is the safest way to rock it. Such as a hair clip which recalls freesia flower in shape and colour (this one is from Amazon). Or a super feminine cloche, so French style. Don’t you feel already a Parisian wandering in the streets during a beautiful springful day? Try to pair it with pointed flats for an ultra chic look. I love a Freesia colour especially with a black outfit, a little black dress or something more masculine like a sleek suit for a more casual appeal. Or put some colour on your nails: here it is OPI Nail Lacquer in I just Can’t Cope-acabana from Brazil collection. For a final touch, don’t forget that Freesia has a captivating fragrance: try Jo Malone Pear & Freesia line and make a comfortable athmosphere with Dyptique Freesia scented candle.
So, what do you think about this colour? Do you love a touch of yellow for your look? I hope you’ll find my suggestions useful 😀
