Guerlain Terracotta Jolie Teint Healthy Glow Powder Duo
These new ‘healthy glowing’ powders are really a big trend right now. First there was Chanel Les Beiges, then Guerlain came out with this new Terracotta Jolie Teint Healthy Glow Powder Duo. Maybe many people can’t see what’s the point: are they a finishing powder? Or maybe a bronzer? Guerlain‘s Terracotta Jolie Teint is the perfect in-between a finishing powder, a bronzer and a blush. From my point of view, it’s kind of pointless defining these new generation powders with a classic, old style make-up categorization. Now powders are more than setting powders and bronzing make-up evolved in a more sophisticated way. It’s all about a healthy, glowing finish to your face.
Guerlain‘s Terracotta range is the best well known ‘holy grail’ when it comes to bronzers and bronzing make-up. Terracotta Jolie Teint is described as a Healthy Glow Powder Duo which is supposed to make your skin look more radiant, youthful and healthy thanks to two coordinated shades – one similar to a bronzer and one similar to a blush – that can be mixed together. I said similar to a bronzer and a blush because neither of the two are really a bronzer or a blush. Many may dislike this almost imperceptible effect. For me, I fell in love immediately. You can’t see it but you can see its effect and how it changes your look. After using Terracotta Jolie Teint I’m just… healthier. And more radiant thanks to that subtle glow. It helps to warm up a bit my skintone without looking ‘bronzed’ and it re-define my face features after applying foundation without looking ‘contoured’. I’m using it on a daily basis and I just cant’ live without this ‘uber-light sunkissed’ effect anymore.
There are 4 shades available in Terracotta Jolie Teint range:
- 00 Clair Blondes
- 01 Clair Brunettes
- 02 Naturel Blondes
- 03 Naturel Brunettes
I have the palest one even if it’s supposed for ‘blondes’ but you just have to choose according to your skintone.
I like to apply it with fluffy, tapered brush such as Sephora Pro Precision Powder n°59 and MAC 137 brush.
Ridiculously pricey at €42.50 but it’s worth every cent.
The packaging is like a classy jewel, in classic Guerlain‘s style and the scent is amazing, like old style candied violets.
