MAC Lovecloud blush – Tres Cheek collection

MAC Lovecloud blush is part of Tres Cheek collection which was launched in Summer 2012. This collection was made of  6 limited edition blushes and it wasn’t avaible in Italy so I couldn’t see any of these blushes live. Some months later I stumbled upon a UK site where I saw MAC Lovecloud on sale and I couldn’t help to buy it.

Tres Cheek collection will be re-launched by MAC this Spring 2014 with 4 repromote blushes, including MAC Lovecloud.

This is Tres Cheek 2014‘s colour story:

  • Lovecloud
  • Peony Petal
  • Modern Mandarin
  • Full of Joy

All these blushes will be permanent.

MAC Lovecloud is similar to all other MAC blushes – no special packaging or different texture – and it has a Satin finish.

MAC Lovecloud blush has the prettiest colour ever: a warm, tender pink which look beautiful on my fair skin. It’s not really bright, though it really brightens your complexion. It’s the perfect colour for spring because it makes your cheeks appear youthful and radiant. It’s not completely matte but I can’t see any shimmers, but it is on the sheer side.

Despite the lovely colour I have some problems with MAC Satin blushes and therefore with Lovecloud. Satin texture is stiffer and less pigmented than Matte blushes. Furthermore lasting power is not so great: they start to fade after 4-5 hours while Matte blushes last for about 6 hours.

Problems get worse after some months: I experienced only with Satin blushes a hard film and it’s quite impossible to get some colour with your brush. At the beginning I was worried that I caused that film with some greasy corruption from foundation so I started being really careful using different clean brushes and applying it only after powdering but it happened anyway. Since I experienced it with every Satin blush I tried so far I must infer that the problem is in Satin formula itself.

What a pity! Let me know if you experienced something similar!
