Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Crème 228 Infamous
Let’s talk about one of my favourite lipstick these days. It is also one of the most interesting products for Spring 2015 launches. Marc Jacobs Beauty has just launched Lip Crème lipstick range alongside with previous range Lip Gel Lovemarc and most recent New Nudes Sheer Lipstick range. You can see all Marc Jacobs Spring 2015 novelties in this post.
I was sent Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Crème 228 Infamous* in order to let you know what to think about this new range. As its name suggest, Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Crème are creamy lipsticks, with opaque and high pigment finish. They’re available in 18 shades at Sephora and they’re sold at €29.50.
Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Crème 228 Infamous is a my lipst but better shade. At least for my complexion. You all know that there is no universal my lips but better shade. It all depends on your skintone and undertone. To me, Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Crème 228 Infamous is the exact colour of my lips, only a better looking version.
I’d describe this lipstick as a natural, mauvey pink with balanced brown and grey undertones. When I saw Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Crème 228 Infamous for the first time it immediately reminded me of MAC Mehr. The ladder is slightly cooler and with more accentuated grey undertones. I’d say that Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Crème 228 Infamous has warm brown undertones while MAC Mehr has cool brown undertones. I am always hesitant talking about dupes but I think that if you have one you can skip the other. Nevertheless it all depends on your skintone and your lips pigmentation. If you think that MAC Mehr is too cool and grey on your complexion you can give Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Crème 228 Infamous a try. If you fear the brown undertone you have to try on your lips before buying. I tend to neutralize brown undertones since I have a neutral warm complexion with peach and warm pink undertones and pigmented lips. As you can see, on me it looks pretty natural.
Talking about Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Crème 228 Infamous‘s performances, it has an opaque finish. Think about MAC Satin lipsticks but way smoother. Despite the fact that it is described as a creamy liptistick, it is not slippery and it doesn’t bleed at all, which is a thing I’m always greateful for. Even if it is a light shade, it lasts on lips for several hours even after dringkin and eating. Of course, it doesn’t leave a stain such as dark, red shades but still you don’t have to retouch it throughout the day.
Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Crème 228 Infamous is one of my favourite everyday lipstick, for when I’m in a hurry or I want a natural nude make up look. It is also pretty if you want to keep your focus on your eyes without erasing lips.
