Mauve Mist – Fall Winter 2014-15 Colour Trend
This weekend I want to finish fall winter 204-15 colour trend posts’ series, so you’ll see two similar posts in a row. Today let’s talk about Mauve Mist. To me it seems a lot more lilac than mauve, though. During past years I’ve been really in love with this colour. Nevertheless I recently found out that I need more more saturation with my colouring. I can still wear this kind of colour only if it isn’t too pale/pastel and it’s paired with a colour with more drama. Mauve Mist is so romantic and elegant, it goes so well with Cypress for a Downtown Abbey mood.
From Pantone Fall 2014 fashion report:
a romantic and elegant purple shade, reminds us of the deco era and stimualtes a sense of femininity and empowerment
Here it is some beauty and fashion inspirations.
Mauve Mist Beauty Inspirations
I selected some Mauve Mist eye make up. If you prefer a complete eye look you can choose among these two palettes: bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 Quad in The Dream Sequence which contains a darker shade and two neutral ones to complete the eye look; or you can go for YSL Beauty Couture Palette in 7 Parisienne with some warmer and neutral tones. If you prefer a single eyeshadow you should take a look at Nars Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in Phoebe. Then if you’re into cream eyeshadows you could give a try to Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in Lavish Lilac. To complete the Mavue Mist look go for Deborah Lippmann nail polish in 12th Street Rag and Marc Jacobs Beauty Cheek Shameless Bold Blush in Outspoken.
Mauve Mist Fashion Inspirations
Downtown Abbey I said. I really think about it when I saw this Coast clutch: it’s really is Mauve Mist, isn’t it? But then I decided to switch to a more modern and ironic look. College style is always one of my favourites and I find The Cambridge Satchel Company‘s satchels the top notch (best purchase ever). I couldn’t really resist to this mini dress with cat print to pair ironic jewellery and always stylish Ray Ban sunglasses. All in Mavue Mist tone, of course.
