Milan Fashion Week 2013 has just ended so we are now able to figure out what clothes we will see in the shopping windows the next spring-summer season, or at least what trends will be on top. My idea of fashion is that we are not fashion victimes, we’re not passive elements on which brands can do and undo; we’re not mannequins, we don’t deserve being manipulated because we are human being with our personal concepts of beauty, fashion and style.
Stylists express their creativity, their art, their point of view as they want; the choice of follow their ideas is up to us. Fashion should be a way to show the world who we are and there’s no one who can told us who or how we have to be.
So, in this post you’ll see only stylists and creations I liked that are in line with my idea of style of this Milan Fashion Week 2013. So you may not see some top designers in this post since I chose to show only what I liked the most.
I’m not fond of world of fashion, too many controversies and too many things with which I disagree, still I love fashion – read clothes, style – itself. And these are my personal highlights from Milan Fashion Week 2013.
Blugirl prefers always mini dress, really feminine and bon ton with a 60’s inspirations; Emporio Armani is all about pastels in cool tones mixing up floral and aquatic patterns, with coordinated tights. Etro chooses the classic: its iconic style with paisley patterns and ethereal silks. Francesco Scognamiglio dreams about a woman extremely feminine and elegant, in which classy lines meet sumptuous details. Giorgio Armani means elegance: simplicity and soft colours for daytime and a profusion of silk and chiffon. Luisa Beccaria thinks of 50’s and read those years with a lot of precious embroideries. Les Copains honour a hourglass woman (and I wished to see real hourglass women wearing these dresses) with mini dresses with bell flared skirts and pencil lines with a corset to put in evidence a small waist. Stella Jean is the greatest revelation from this Milan Fashion Week 2013: folk and traditional patterns used in a totally unconventional way, all mixed up to create unique creations.
