The Milan Men’s Fashion Week 2014 has just finished and I had the opportunity to attend various backstages thanks to MAC cosmetics team.
The make up artists team has been led by senior MUA Michele Magnani who conceived and created every make up.
For Vivienne Westwood AW14 collection, Michele Magnani thought about humanoyds to represent civilization into the future. He created a highly metallic texture in order to obtain an artificial luminosity. Key products are Studio Sculpt foundation, Mineralize Skinfinish Soft & Gentle and fluidline in Blacktrack to outline the hair.
For Antonio Marras AW14 there’s a nostalgic thread with past and tradition but with a contemporary twist: make up base is really light and fresh (Face & Body Foundation mixed with Prep+Prime Natural Radiance primer and Select Cover-Up where necessary) while brows are bold and straight: they’re defined with Brow Set Clear and combed upward.
Ports 1961 AW14 honour old England with precious, old fashioned fabrics just like tweed etc. For this collection Michele Magnani choose a light make up in order to make standing out those textiles. So, foundation and concealer are diluted with primer or moisturizer. Then he highlighted cheekbones with Cream Colour Base in Pearl.
For Roberto Cavalli AW14 collection, he wanted fresh, young and natural guys so he put on an extremely natural make up to leave the skin’s texture show through. This make up create a strong, beautiful contast with clothes which are bold, opulent, precious and rich in details.
I think that’s all for my Milan Men’s Fashion Week 2014! I hope you’ll enjoy my backstage photos (brows the gallery above). If you’re interested in more detailed posts, you can find at these links my Italian articles:
