Milan Men’s Fashion Week SS16
This week I had the opportunity to attend some backstages at Milan Men’s Fashion Week SS16 thanks to MAC Cosmetics. You can see detailed posts about every designer at Kenderasia Italian site. In this post I want to write a recap about each fashion show’s concept and each beauty idea. All beauty looks have been created by unbelievable talented Global Senior Artist Michele Magnani helped by his amazing MAC Pro team. I’ve been really glad to be able to see most of my favourite fashion designers. The main beauty concept for men the next spring summer season is to be fresh and simple. To be authentic and true to theirselves.
Let’s start with Vivienne Westwood SS16. The strong claim is that
Politicians are criminals
As her brand’s DNA identity, Vivienne Westwood is strongly committed to climate revolution (find out here all details). The main concept for this beauty look is a warrior man who fights for his ideas. Therefore he is a fighting dreamer that is strong enough to show his emotions, his fears, even his tears. It has been used MAC Feline khol pencil in the inner corner of the eyes, smudged with 219 brush. Then it has been added an Eye Gloss to make the look more romantic. Hair styling by Mark Hampton.
The day after I attended Antonio Marras SS16. His theme is a trip through the trip itself, taking his inspirations from literature. Think about Achab and Ulysses. Female models have creamy burgundy lips with MAC Hang Up lipstick and Burgundy lip pencil. This retro feeling has been toned down with a fresh, luminous complexion. Male models has an extremely natural complexion, thanks to Mineralize Timecheck. Hair styling by Tony & Guy.
On the last Milan Men’s Fashion Week day, I was at Dsquared2‘s backstage. Their collections are always cheerful and carefree. The Dsquared2 SS16 theme is #DeepSurf. These boys are nomad surfers. They love nature and they spend their time out in the sun in a wild way of living. MAC team used Prep+Prime BB Beauty Balm in Deep Dark to create an accentuate, extreme bronzing to enhance their staying out at the beach. To re-create the sunscreen protection they used an extremely light lipstick put roughly on the lips and around the eyes. As extra pampering, Nails & Beauty team lead by Paola Sacripante did a Japanese manicure with new Salt of the Earth products.
The day continued at Christian Pellizzari SS16‘s backstage. He is well known for his elegance, this time he wanted to match Italian Baroque style with Chinese’s fine art in porcelains. Michele Magnani wanted to recreate that flawless porcelain skin using lightweight products in order to achieve a luminous, transparent skin where little imperfections are minimized in the most natural way. Hair styling by Elia Piatto.
My Milan Men’s Fashion Week SS16 ended with Stella Jean fashion show. This time she mixed a metropolitan look with a daydreaming trip to far away land where freedom wins against urbanization. So there is a mix of rigorous stripes and colourful patterns from Burkina Faso. Beauty look is natural and pretty unnoticeable thanks to Mineralize Timechek primer+serum mixed with a tiny bit of concealer where needed. Hair styling by Elia Piatto.
