When it comes to mineral make up I prefer going indie: better prices, more range of colours
Since I’m Italian there are a lot of troubles buying from U.S. because of custom duties, so I can’t try several brands 🙁
But there are some safer than others and Mad Minerals is one of these.
So, I kept my fingers crossed.
I ordered only Multi Use Mineral Colours (I use them as eyeshadows) in sample jars.
Colour range is great: you can choose among 300 shades!
All sample jars contain 1/4 tsp for $2.25 (you can also choose sample bags, 3g, 5g or 10g sifter jars).
I ordered the 15 pc. Super Value Sampler Set: you can choose 15 samples in bag or jar for $23.99 or $26.99. There are also a 10 pc., 20 pc. and 50 pc. sets.
All shades are
- extremely fine milled,
- highly pigmented also used dry
- with a base they last all day long, even in these hot days.
Sorry, but I couldn’t find the right light to do swatches: all shades are so complex, with coloured shimmers and duochrome sheens; I can hardly define them. I hope you can appreciate them in their jars.
Twisted: a metallic blue-purple
Furious: a periwinkle blue with a purple sheen
Logan: medium purple with silver shimmers
Love Bird: metallic blue with a grey-purple undertone
Cobolt: intense metallic deep blue
Pizzazz: bright metallic purple
Intuition: seafoam blue based teal with gold duochrome
Day Dreamer: same as above but more teal (greener)
Spellbound: grey-purple with gold duochrome
Drama Queen: same as above but more grey
Cougar: medium warm brown with silver shimmers
Muse: warm coppery brown with burgundy undertone
Blackberry: same as above but less coppery and more burgundy
Prestige: matte rosy taupe brown
