October 2015 Favourites – My Most Played

My favourite month, aka October, has come to an end this year as well. Talking about cosmetics and beauty products, I made a big decluttering so right now it’s like a new start with only the things I love and I use the most. Now, let’s talk about this October 2015 favourites, aka the beauty products I enjoyed the most during last month (GoldenVi0let™, send her your love).

October 2015 Favourites

During last month I made my research for the flawless base goal. My latest favourite combination is a double one. Let me explain: I found out that mixing two kind of foundations applied with two different make up brushes is the technique that gave me the best result. Kinda flawless. So, I mixed onw matte high coverage foundation with a luminous sheer coverage one. This is my recipe:

  • two tiny drops of MAC Cosmetics Pro longwear Nourishing foundation (here in NW15 which is a tad lighter than my skintone)
  • three tiny drops of MAC Cosmetics Face and Body foundation (here in N1 which is a tad darker than my skintone)

Blended well on the top of my hand and then applied,

  • first, with Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection foundation brush
  • all blended, refined, smoothed out with Zoeva Silk Finisher brush

Of course, a flawless base asks for a face primer. Some favourite options of mine are Make Up For Ever Skin Equalizer, Laura Mercier Radiance Primer or Burberry Fresh Glow.

My other most played makeup items were Makeup Revolution Naked Chocolate Palette. It is supposed to be the Lorac Unzipped dupe but I don’t know if it’s true since I don’t own the Lorac palette. Talking about the quality itself, and not about the rumors, I do think that this Makeup Revolution palette has a really good quality in terms of pigmentation, blendability and lasting power. I think they improved the quality of this kind of palette since the ‘original’ MUR Chocolate Palette is quite powdery and with a less quality in general. The colours in this palette are all warm toned neutrals, with very nice colour options.

As for the lips, I’m currently loving the NARS Velvet Matte Pencil in Cruella, a deep blood red which suits my colouring and my complexion beautifully. It has been a so highly appreciated gift! This formula is top-notch: smooth, velvet finish without enhancing dry flakes and chapped lips.
