We all know how is important knowing what is exactly our skintone colour: otherwise there is a lot of trouble to find out what is our right foundation shade, for example.
The worldwide colour authority Pantone has just created a new collection: the Pantone Skintone Guide, a collection featuring 110 codified skintone shades. Really. Scientifically. Because Pantone analyzed real existing skintones to create this range in order to have a perfect match with real life skins.
Every shade is codified and identified with a string composed by numbers and letters: first two identify skintone shade, last two the intensity.
It is a gret step to create a unified system to define and categorized every skintone.
There are a lot of activities, from makeup to fashion to photography to editing, in which it can be useful to know how to match different “naked” or nude shades of colouring that exist in real life.
