Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner Palette
Physicians Formula arrived recently here in Italy. I had the opportunity to attend the official launch event (read about it here) and I was really impressed with a lot of products. I received some as press samples so now I can tell you what I think about them. I want to start with Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner Palette in Natural Nude*, which Physicians Formula launched in 2013.
Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner Palette are compact eyeshadow palettes featuring 9 shades. This one Natural Nude is part of Nude collection: there are 4 palettes in this collection and they are all declinations of nude palettes trend. They features all neutral colours with a shimmery, pearlized finish. I think that this glowing and shimmery effect is a Physicians Formula‘s trademark since almost all products in their range have a great amount of pearl. I’m really glad that there aren’t glitters or chunky shimmers but a silky texture really similar to mother of pearl.
In Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner Palette Nude Collection there 4 palettes to choose among:
- Classic Nude Eyes: all greige shades
- Natural Nude Eyes: the lighter and the softer
- Warm Nude Eyes: all warm based colours
- Smoky Nude Eyes: features some darker shades
Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner Palette Natural Nude features the most light and soft neutral colours. I’d say that they are all highlighting colours because even the darkest ones are really soft and muted. Texture is really smooth and highly pearlized. Each colour add a great luminosity to all eye make up. The only down side is that all shades are quite similar so I have a hard time to tell one from another even if I’m fair (NC15).
I think it is a great palette if you like light colours, shimmer and a soft, natural look. Thanks to this pearlized finish I’d highly recommend it you’re young or a teen. For a more mature woman I’d suggest using less shimmery shades, especially on your browbone.
Quality is really good: they last well without creasing even without a primer.
Price is correct: in US it is a lot cheaper (around $11) but here in Europe you’ll get if for around €16.
A special mention goes to this uber pretty and cute packaging: the palette – which is extremely compact and perfect for travelling – is covered with this chic and feminine black lace which makes this a perfect idea for gifts.
