Placid Blue – Spring Summer 2014 Colour Trend
This is the last post for spring summer 2014 colour trend post series. Last but not least I’m going to talk about Placid Blue, codified by Pantone as 15-3920. Placid Blue is, well a really ‘placid’ pastel light blue. A bit powdery so it can appear less childish. Therefore it can be worn also for a grown-up style. But not too much serious, since it gives a cheerful touch to your look.
A total Placid Blue look could be a little too much but I couldn’t resist this lovely pleated skirt from Alice + Olivia. You won’t look like a little girl thanks to real leather fabric. Of course this a colour easy to wear when it comes to accessories. I chose these really feminine earrings from Aldo. Then two bags: one is a tote from Lacoste and the other is a satchel from River Island. I know, I said that Placid Blue could be a grown-up colour. But these Marc Jacobs loafers are the cutest thing ever. Last but not least, beauty. Personally I find a little difficult wearing a light blue eyeshadow while it can be easier to wear it on your nails. So I chose a Deborah Lippmann nail lacquer, this is called Blue Orchid.
So, what do you think about this colour? I’m not really a pastel lover but I have to say that I pretty like these shades with a bit of grey that make these colours look quite powdery.
Next posts in Colour Trends series will be focused on Fall-Winter 2014-2015 colours, so stay tuned!
