Let’s starting to see something I really, really like. This fall 2013 Pantone chose a set of deep, bold colours which go from ruby red to luscious plums. All of these colours recall berries and they are the colours I love the most, both in fashion – clothes and accessories – and make up. Today I give to you some inspirations in Samba, Pantone 19-1662. Samba is a deep ruby red with cool undertones and a tiny bit of magenta in it. I’d say it’s a berry red. When I look at this colour, it recalls to me sangria! I must confess: there’s plenty of this colour in every make up product range, so I had to make a choice among thousands of possibilities. I only chose two nail polish – Giorgio Armani nail polish in 400 and Chanel April – and a lip product, a “chubby stick” a-like which everyone seems to love and I chose new Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Standout. But of course there’s a lot of choices among tons of lipsticks, for example I think that Nars Pure Matte lipstick in Mascate could fit the Samba kind of colour as well. For fashion inspirations I fell in love with warm, cozy Dsquared2 cardigan and Banana Republic scarf; a touch of femininity with a Nina Ricci dress and pop of colour for accessories: elegant for Gucci plumps or edgy with Jeffrey Campbell booties and the same for clutches, rock with Alexander McQueen or classic with YSL.
