Hi! Today my order with the Sleek Vintage Romance Collection finally arrived. There’s been a great buzz which highly anticipated this launch.

I decided to buy the entire Sleek Vintage Romance Collection, so both the i-Divine palette and the blush in Antique. As I said sometimes I’m not a big fan of Sleek palettes because they’re very powdery, sometimes too frosty and difficult to blend. Though they usually have a great colour payoff and lasting power and they are ridiculously cheap.

The first moment I saw the promo images I loved this collection: the concept and the colours were so, so me. I mean, I am a vintage and romantic soul. I couldn’t let it go.

So I pre-ordered the Sleek Vintage Romance set on the German site Kosmetik4less, a couple of weeks before the official launch on the Sleek site.

Here it is the Sleek Vintage Romance i-Divine palette, isn’t it beautiful?

The palette is made of 12 so called mineral based eyeshadows. There are a lot of finishes: metallic, pearl, satin, matte and glittery. Colours go from neutrals to purplish shades, all with a warm undertone except two shades but I’d say that the palette is definitely warm, so people with a strong cool undertone must pay attention to this.

Let’s see shades in details:

  • Pretty in Paris – metallic light silver
  • Meet in Madrid – metallic honey gold
  • Court in Cannes – metallic warm dark gold
  • Lust in LA – metallic antique gold
  • Romance in Rome – satiny indigo
  • Propose in Prague – matte terracotta
  • A Vow in Venice – satiny dark berry
  • Marry in Montecarlo – pearl pinkish berry
  • Honeymoon in Hollywood – glittery warm purple with fuchsia undertone
  • Bliss in Barcelona – pearl royal purple
  • Forever in Florence – glittery dark burgundy
  • Love in London – glittery black

As you can see all shades are quite complex. Glittery shades have a matte base which doesn’t seem too powdery. Unlucky the shades I like the most – Romance in Rome and Bliss in Barcelona have a poor colour payoff, I hope they’ll work better with a base underneath.

And here it is the Blush Antique. I never tried Sleek blushes before but I read some good reviews about them. As you can see Antique Blush seems really glittery in the pan and quite dark and brown. I feared it would look muddy on my fair skin. But when it is blended out into skin it gives an extremely natural defined look to cheekbones. It’s in that range of shades which I define as “earthy rose”, they usually go pretty well with the natural skintone colour.

I compared it with two Nars blushes, Sin and Douceur; Sin is way more cool and mauve, while Douceur is pretty similar, only matte.

Top to bottom: Nars Sin, Sleek Antique, Nars Douceur
