Viva Glam range is made of 6 permanent lipsticks and every year there is a limited edition campaign featuring various celebrities. In past two years we’ve seen Lady Gaga  (and I prodly have both lippies!) as testimonial.

2012 Viva Glam campaign features Ricky Martin and Nicki Minaj (photo from LaChapelle). The 2012 Viva Glam products are Viva Glam Ricky conditioner (the transparent one) and Viva Glam Nicki lipstick and this is what I’m going to review.

Viva Glam packaging is the classic black bullet with red details and the celebrity’s signature.

When I saw first swatches I was not impressed at all.

I dare bold colours on lips but I’m more a deep-burgundy gal. So I’m a bit scared by neon pinks and so on. But I know that skintone + natural lip colour combo is all when it comes to lipsticks: they can look sooo different on many people!

Nevertheless I was really attracted by this vitaminic warm coral-pink, so I ordered it. I have also to thank the mua whom gave me the ok for my fair skin.

In real life is not so scaring as I’ve seen on many photos. Yes, it’s bold. But it’s not “too much”effect. I think it depends also on skintone. I’m fair and I like it a lot more in me  that on deeper skintones. Well, it’s a matter of personal taste. I don’t like it on Nicki Minaj, for example.

On me it’s an evident, youthful and joyous warm pink still really wearable.

I apply it directly from the tube but if I want a more subtle effect I use also a lipbrush or I sligtly dab it on lips with my finger.

Finish is satin but it seems more a matte. I don’t find it drying but it’s better to exfoliate your lips firt. It’s the most long-wearing lipstick I own. It’s incredible: I can eat or drink, it stays on lips until I use a makeup remover. Also, it stains lips.

It’s one of my favourite lipsticks, for sure.

This fall Mac will launch also a Viva Glam Nicki Lipglass, can’t wait to get it!
