Today’s post is about a great news for fashion and cosmetic industry: this fall we have a Vivienne Westwood Climate Revolution for Lush collaboration. Vivienne Westwood has designed revolutionary, limited edition furoshiki scarves for the natural beauty brand Lush. Lush always preferred paper for wrapping their products instead of plastic, in order to avoid waste packaging. Recently Lush introduced furoshiki scarves for cutting back on gift wrap. As you all know the British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood has an eco-friendly thinking and decided to take part of Lush‘s project on economize wrapping paper. So, for our beauty Christmas gifts we’ll have a Vivienne Westwood Climate Revolution Lush furoshiki collection avaible from November.
The proceeds of the sale will be donated to the creation of a fund Climate Revolution, in which individuals, groups and charities can contact to obtain funding for awareness and combat climate change .
Inspired by Japanese art , the furoshiki can be used as a glamorous alternative to the gift packages, as a shawl or pretty neckerchiefs, or framed as artwork. The Climate Revolution furoshiki Vivienne Westwood will be available in two versions: camel or light pink , with prints drawn by the designer where the sad face with black eye – The face of war – Westwood is the symbol of the fight against climate change and environmental degradation.
The limited edition furoshiki are made of organic cotton and fine fabrics from an English craftsman, one of the last remaining in England.
Buying one of furoshiki of Vivienne Westwood is a fun way to contribute to the reduction of wrapping paper for Christmas gifts that each year becomes waste ( it is estimated that in England alone every year 227.000 miles of Christmas paper becomes junk, a length enough to make nine times around the world).
Speaking of his collaboration with Lush, Vivienne Westwood said: I always say, you buy less and buy better quality so that what you buy will last over time. The furoshiki Climate Revolution can replace paper gift and last a lifetime . More importantly , purchasing them will take part in the revolution of climate that we need if we are to have a future to survive and in which to grow.
Christmas means giving, unpacking, pack and throw, said Mo Constantine, co -founder of Lush Cosmetics. We are delighted that Vivienne has designed for us this furoshiki Climate Revolution . For years we have encouraged our customers to use tissues instead of packaging, half of our products are “naked” and did not even need the packaging. So this is a really exciting collaboration: two brands British icons that come together at Christmas and ask consumers to focus their attention to the garbage they produce.
