Cindy-Lou Manizer – TheBalm: a review
I think that TheBalm is a too underrated make up brand. They put out such great products at a reasonably price that are – in many cases – so much better than a lot of high end and luxury brands.
Their Mary-Lou Manizer is acclaimed as the best highlighter ever by all beauty bloggers worldwide. Usually I am a bit suspicious about these holy-grails but at the same time I’m really curious to see if all this hype is well worth. Well, Mary-Lou Manizer worths all this hype.
So, when recently TheBalm came out with Mary-Lou Manizer‘s little sister – Cindy-Lou Manizer – I couldn’t wait to grab it as soon as possible. I waited eagarly to see it on some UK stockists and finally it appeared on Cloud 10 Beauty, an Irish shop (you can see my haul and my opinion about this shop at this link). This site is really convenient for European customers since it uses euro currency (but you can buy in Bristish pounds as well). Cindy-Lou Manizer was about €19, plus I had a 15% discount off.
Cindy-Lou Manizer comes in an uber pretty vintage and ironic packaging: on the case thare’s an escaped pin up called The Con-Tour Artist. It’s a solid plastic case, with a mirror inside for 8.5 grams of product.
As many TheBalm products Cindy-Lou Manizer contains Boron Nitride and I know that many people are quite sensitive to it; here it is full ingredients list:
Mica, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Silica, Isoeicosane, Polyehylene, Boron Nitride, Polysobutene, Ptfe, Synthetic Wax, Dimethicone, may contain [+/- Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491), (CI 77492), (CI 77499), Tin Oxide, Carmine (CI 75470)].

Cindy- Lou Manizer Texture is extremely smooth and silky, almost creamy to the touch. Very fine milled, it has a strong metallic finish without looking obvious or over-frosting. It doesn’t have glitters or shimmery so you won’t risk the disco-ball effect. Colour is a delicate pinky-peach – I’d say salmon – but it is highly pigmented so it works better as a blush on fairest skintones. I’m NC15 with a peach/warm pink undertone and this colour matches well with my complexion but cooler skintones may find it too warm. It lasts well for about 7 hours, then you’ll need a little touch up. I use it as a cheekbones highlighter or over a blush, for highlighting other areas I prefer a ligther, yellow based highlighter such as Mary-Lou Manizer.
