May 2014 Favourites – #TeamMostPlayed
I refuse to pronounce even a single word about how fast this mont has passed by. I need at least two life to do what I have and I want to do. The dawn summer is almost here and this is a bad thing for a procrastinator. A very, very bad thing.
Let’s go straigtht to the point: make up. Another monthly post for the #TeamMostPlayed series created by GoldenVi0let. So these are my May 2014 Favourites concerning make up products.
I finally ended up YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation and I switched to a lighter, summer base. My choice for this month has been Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream. On me it’s more like a lightweight foundation than a CC Cream (or a tinted moisturizer, as you prefer). It has light to medium coverage, make my skin looking fresh and radiant. I wish it would have a higher SPF… To enhance the radiant skin effect I constantly used Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance: it gives a natural glow without obvious shimmers highlighting your best features. When I use this primer I don’t want, usually, mattify the skin with a setting powder. So I prefer using a finishing powder and this month I used a lot Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused. I have mixed feeling about this powder. I’m deeply in love with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette where my preferred powder is Dim. Although Diffused is not bad at all: texture is incredibly smood and it is finely milled but I can’t see any woah! effect. Yeah, it brightens up complexions but I couldn’t see any *magic play of light*. For redness and dyschromia I find that T. Leclerc Powder in Banane is so much better. Furthermore Diffused is not a highlighting powder since it has only a satin finish, plus on light-to medium skins could leave a white cast. Last face product featured in this May 2014 favourites is my latest purchase, a product I’ve been drooling over from ages: Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder. The simplest and the most iconic name 🙂 The only colour available was medium and I was a little worry that it could look muddy on my pale face. Well, I was wrong. I never used such a *product* for contouring and it has the most perfect colour to re-create my natural shadows. It’s cool but doesn’t lead to grey so it looks extremely natural.
On my eyes I changed eyeshadows almost every day, but I used a lot Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. I didn’t use it alone – this month I preferred more colourful looks – but I used it for blending colours (Walk of Shame, Naked 2), transitions (Naked 2 again and Faint) and as browbone highlighter (Venus, Foxy). As eyeliner I couldn’t stop using my new Charlotte Tilsbury Rock’n’Kohl Liquid Eye Pencil in Elizabeth Violet: great colour payoff, once set it doesn’t budge and lasts all day long.
What about lips? Alongside with some MAC brights and deep shade (Party Parrot, Red Balloon, Moxie, Viva Glam I etc., I changed lipstick almost every day; check out my post with all my MAC lipsticks) I’m loving another new in: Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in Honey: I reached for it at least 5-6 times, it’s my perfect my lips but better shade, it has a surprisingly good colour payoff and leaves a pretty stain.
So, these are my May 2014 Favourites, what about yours?

Uh, quella Sculpting Powder.
