Another milionth, umpteenth post on the (in)famous Naked palettes by Urban Decay 😀

I like colours. And with make up I dare colours. I don’t mind if it’s morning or evening, if I have to go to work or out with my bf.

I always try to like myself, with make up, apparel and so on. I like looking at myself in the mirror and saying “you’re ok, you’re classy”.

In my mind being classy doesn’t exclude being coloured.

It all depends how you do things and how you match them.

I like colours but I like even neutrals. They simply complete some of my looks.

When Naked palette came out I didn’t go crazy. I thought it was only marketing and so on, even if I love Urban Decay eyeshadows: extremely pigmented, extremely long lasting, extremely smooth and blendable. Naked palette is indeed a great value.

Also, I owned a few neutrals in my stash.

Nevertheless I resisted. Until 6 months ago, when I had a big discount code from Lookfantastic.

Surprisingly I’ve been using it every day. Even with my colourful make up: I use lightest colours on my browbone, medium colours on my crease blending them with a strong colour (purple, blue, teal and so on) on my eyelid and darker colours on my outer corner.

I find it versatile, indeed.

So I couldn’t resist and – always with blessed discount codes – one month ago I ordered Naked 2 from Beauty Bay. (see here)

Now impressions:

– Yeah, they’re similar. No, you don’t need both (unless you’re a make up junkie like me).

– Yeah, I love and use each colour. No, they aren’t all the same. There a lot kind of beiges, greiges and browns and they are all different.

– You find in both palettes Half Baked and it’s a lot annoying. Really, I don’t know why Urban Decay made this decision.

– Luckly they put in each palette only one glittery colour: I strongly hate them because of fall out. Though Naked 2 has new formulated and improved textures.

Naked original is darker and warm toned, while Naked 2 is lighter and cool toned. But they are booth well balanced for every complexion.

– I don’t find these palettes “naked”. They are all colours with strong personality  for an evident result. So, if you want a “no-makeup” look, don’t go for these ones.

– I find the brushes useless : don’t blend, don’t pick up a lot of colour. And I would appreciated another Primer Potion instead of a tiny and meh transparent gloss.

– Pay attention to dupes! For examples Sin, Chopper and Smog are also in Ammo palette.

– Perfect contour look? Use Naked and Buck, Foxy and Tease.

Packaging: Naked 1 comes in velvetly carton box while Naked 2 in a more solid metal box.

Naked 1 contains 2 matte colours, Naked 2 contains 3 mattes.

Quality is for both palettes over the top.
