Now I am ready to talk about my new absolute love: the Burberry Velvet Foundation. As I said previous I tried it during a Burberry Makeover with Rita Fiorentino and I’m wearing it every day since then.

Velvet Foundation came out this fall and complete the Burberry range along with Sheer Foundation.

It comes in 7 shades and it costs 43.40 euro for 30ml (1 fl. oz.). My match is Trench 202, a very pale shade with a strong cool rose undertone. On this blog you can see all swatches: as you can see each shade has a yellow gold or cool rose undertone, so if you’re very neutral you may not find a perfect match or you’ll have to mix two shades.

I am not a packaging junkie but I have to admit that Burberry packaging shot at my heart: a matte glass bottle with the classic trench pattern on it. It reflects Burberry philosophy: classy, minimal, elegant, chic, “british”.

Texture is quite strange: it is a fluid but quite creamy with an “elastic” feeling. It adheres on skin and it feels really like velvet for a perfect porcelain skin.

Finish is not a flat matte. Usually, matte foundations make your face looking flat and dull and conceal all your features. This one not at all. My skin is simply perfect, without any shine but with my face structure evident.

I have combination, acne prone skin with dry areas and Velvet Foundation doesn’t mark any of them. I’d say it is moisturizing, in some way.

On me it lasts all day – and night – long without retouch or shining.

It’s not clogging (yeah!) because it’s oil free and has a pleasant powdery rose scent.

Sure, it is a luxury product but it’s worth every cent!
