Hi! Today it’s time to talk about one of my absolute favourites: Silk Crème Foundation by Laura Mercier.
I used it through all this winter, with my other favourite Burberry’s Velvet foundation. Silk Crème Foundation is described as luminous, light-diffusing formula which optically vanish fine lines.
I think it’s best suited for normal to dry skins, since it didn’t mark any dry area on my face, even on colder days. Texture is a rich cream and you need only a tiny amount to avoid any cakeness. Plus, since it’s water based, you have to shake the bottle before applying. I use for it my Buffing Brush from Real Techniques and I can achieve a flawless high coverage, without being cakey or too much heavy. My skin still look natural, but perfect. It does not have a matte finish, nor too much dewy: I think it’s right describing it as light diffusing.
It lasts *perfect* for 10 hours, I don’t need to re-touch throughout the day and it doesn’t break me up nor clog my pores: I can’t imagine a better foundation, really. Plus, there is a colour light enough for me: I use Silk Crème Foundation in Soft Ivory and it disappears onto my skin. On the bad side, it is really pricey: 44 euro for 35ml, though I think it’s worth every cent since a little goes a long way.
Have you ever tried this foundation? I think I never tried a foundation so good like this one, I can’t think of a single downside about it, I really think I finally found my holy grail among liquid foundations. I’m in love with Burberry one as well but the Silk Crème Foundation has a more neutral undertone which suits best my pink but warm skintone. Worth the money and the hype.

Amooooo!
