Esxence 2015 – The Scent of Excellence

This weekend Milan smells good. Until 29th March you can attend Esxence 2015, the international exposition for niche and artistic perfumery. 165 brands for a synesthetic experience which combines sounds and scents: a unique, incredibile sensorial experience.

I’ve been able to plunge myself into another universe to discover a parallel world made of colours, shapes, lights’ reflections and, of course, fragrances. I’ve been able to discover so many brands, from the most famous ones to little Italian entities. From Creed, to Bond n°9, to Maison Dorin, to Molinard, to Jardins d’Ecrivains: every expositor was a multi-sensorial experience and a direct contact with luxury, excellence, tradition, knowledge, handicraft and beauty. But not only fragrances: there were also skincare and make up with Rouge Bunny Rouge, Philab, REN and Ami Iyök.

One of the inchpin missions of Esxence – The Scent of Excellence is the international promotion of Artistic Perfumery, together with the creation of a community, of a network where enthusiasts and operators can meet and exchange knowledges and skills.

Starting from the established historical tradition of this sector, Esxence expresses its own committment supporting new generations of talents, perfumers, bottle designers and creators of perfumed stories with initiatives that can give them visibility and the possibility to be known.

For this reason, the Artistic Perfumery’s Event has created two contests dedicated to the identification of the official perfume of Esxence: in 2013, with The Scent of Esxence – 5 Years of Excellence, young perfumers all over the world (under 30) sent their proposals for the that most represented the complexity and the mood of Esxence. The winner is Alex Lee, with the perfume Etoilegance, inspired by the theme of the 5 pointed star, celebration of the 5 years of the Event.

In 2014, with The Art of Scent, Radis Nikzad proposed the perfume bottle that most reflected the concept of The Scent of Esxence.

In the occasion of the 7th edition of Esxence – The Scent of Excellence, the Organization will produce 100 samples (bottle and fragrance): they will be sold and the proceeds will be given to charity.
