Thanks to MAC Cosmetics, I was so lucky to be able to attend Kabuki Magic‘s Masterclass in Milan.
I can hardly express how privileged and honoured I am to see when beauty becomes – truly – art.
Thanks to his incredible vision, Kabuki Magic is well renowned as one of the all time most talented make up artist. During this masterclass we all understood what that “magic” word in his name means. The occasion for this unique event was the launch of Kabuki and MAC collaboration with Make-up Art Cosmetics Collection.
Kabuki’s demonstration was introduced by an interview hold by Global Senior Artist Michele Magnani. Kabuki told us that he sees painting as a way to express himself and how much David Bowie inspired him.
After that, he showed us his amazing skills creating two visionary, surrealistic, colourful looks using the products from his beautiful collection. In doing that, he was assisted by National Artist Roberta Betti.
For the first “aquatic” look he used a Paintstick and two Paints – the blue and the green ones – using the brush 283 from his collection. He lined the eyes with Coffe eye pencil and smudged with 218 brush. The Powder Blush Duo to contour and nude lips with Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour Sweet Thing. Black mascara with 205 fan brush and a bit of Fix+, false lashes. The final touch is a bit of dazzleshadow on the cheekbone as sparkling highlighter.
For the “bubble” look he used the purple Paint and pink shock CCB. Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour in Flamingo Road and This Modern Age and the neutral eyeshadow quad to match the eyebrows.
You can see both the looks step by step browsing the gallery below. All photos are taken by me.
