MAC Cosmetics Paints Bare Canvas and Untitled: my review
Let’s get back to an old-style beauty review. Today I want to talk about one of the most underrated product in the beauty addicts’ world. I’m talking about MAC Cosmetics Paints.
Back in 2005-2006 there were some MAC Cosmetics cult products: pigments and paints. I don’t know why but people started to forget about these two make up masterpieces.
MAC Cosmetics paints are the most gorgeous eye primer out there, in my humble opinion. Basically, paints are creamy colours in a little tube. The concept, clearly, refers to professional painting and it’s brilliant.
Obviously, paints are meant to be used as a multi-purpose product, since MAC Cosmetics is a professional-based company. I like them as a base for eye make up.
Back in the old days, paints were available in beautiful colours, like burgundy for example. Nowadays they are available in neutral shades only.
I own two paints, Bare Canvas and Untitled. The first one matches perfectly my fair skin. It has a matte finish and a neutral-yellow tone so it’s perfect to neutralize any eyelids’ redness. The latter has a little shimmer to it and it’s a lot cooler so it brightens the eyelid.
They’re creamy but not too slippery. Their texture is quite thick but easy to blend with your finger or a brush. A very little goes a long way. After many years they are still perfect as texture and effectiveness as well.
Thanks to these little babies my eyeshadows stand up to 12 hours perfectly. They do not change the eyeshadow colour nor the texture. Eyeshadows are easy to blend too.
I wish they’d come in some more colours again in the permanent range! Recently they came in three beautiful vivid colours thanks to Kabuki Magic Collection but sadly they were limited edition.
Hi Kenderasia! I’d been tempted by these product for years, but I’ve never realized the purchase for some reasons… one of which is the colour: as my perfect skin match is the Paint Pot in Soft Ochre, could you give me a suggestion about a good matchy shade?
Thanks a lot 🙂
