Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour
Liquid lipsticks could be elected as the product of the year. Seriously, every brand is launching its own liquid lipstick version, most of them with a matte velvet-like finish.
Laura Mercier as a Spring 2015 novelty for its range has launched Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour. They are already available internationally but here in Italy they are going to be launched soon. I had the chance to receive some of them as a press sample review from Italian Laura Mercier‘s distributor Stefano Saccani.
Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour is described as
A fresh, creamy coat of intense liquid demi-matte colour with every stroke.
On official website Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour are available in 10 shades and they are sold at $28 for 6ml / 0.2 fl. oz. of product.
I’ve been so lucky to receive three stunning colours which I really like.
The first one is Sunblaze*, which is the most unique of the bunch because it has a metallic finish since it does contain mica. I usually don’t like lip products with metallic finish but this one is not too frosty or overwhelming. Plus it is so enriched with multi-coloured reflects that I couldn’t help to love it for how it looks like a beautiful sunset. The colour is a warm, almost orangey light red with coral and golden reflects.
Then a true, deep and sumptuous red. It is called Red Brick* but I can’t see it as brick, warm red. To me, it looks like an intense neutral red. It looks quite dark, just like a velvet curtain. I’d describe it as a retro, decadent shade. My favourite shade of crimson red, indeed.
Last but not least, a natural shade called Rosewood*. It is a deep rose with a strong brown undertone. It may appear too brown if you have a cool undertone but on my lips it pulls out its rose tone looking as a mauvey brownish plum. I wore it a lot during last month and it entered my little my lips but better Olympus.
Now, let’s talk about Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour formula. I tried various liquid lipsticks formulas which dries with a matte finish. Nevertheless I do think that Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour is something new for this kind of product. First, they have a so-called demi-matte finish. So, it’s something different from all those ultra-matte, ultra-drying formulas out there. After 30 seconds they dry as a satin finish. A single stroke delivers an opaque, full pigment dose of colour that covers your entire lips. The most interesting feature of this product is that it is really hydrating and extremely comfortable for your lips. This is due in particular to two ingrendients: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Wax (Helianthus Annuus Seed Cera) and Tocopherol. The first one makes your lips looking more even, fuller and smoother while the ladder hydrates deeply your lips throughout the day. Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour really feels like an extremely pleasant to wear satiny varnish without any stickyness. Talking about lasting power, they last perfectly even after drinks and light meals. They give up against the most oiled courses, clearly because of its moisturizing texture.
In conclusion, I’m really enthusiastic about this product, you should give it try if you can’t stand all those drying liquid lipsticks!
