Liquid Lipsticks Galore: my collection

First, I must confess: my liquid lipsticks collection is really humble. I’m not one of those makeup collector, I like choosing products carefully and, sometimes, I even finish them.

So, in this post you won’t see those huge makeup collection, but it may be useful because I gathered liquid lipsticks from various brands. You may notice a strange absence: yes I do own a couple of Lime Crime Velvetines but after many happenings I decided to not give any kind of exposure to that brand. I hope you’ll understand. There are better options out there, anyway.

Now here there are all my liquid lipsticks!

Liquid Lipsticks

Liquid Lipsticks

My relationship with liquid lipsticks was quite difficult from the start. I remember a MAC Kissable Lipcolour from an old collection but the bleeding was terrible. Now I have great expectation for upcoming Retro Matte Liquid Lipsticks since they seem great from a first preview test. Then I completely changed my mind when this big trend of liquid lipsticks exploded.

First I tried Nabla Cosmetics Liquid Tech Lip Color in Amore & Psiche. The finish is not matte like all these latest launches, but more creamy. You have to use a tiny bit of product if you don’t want it to bleed. It’s not a bad product – actually I really enjoy it and this colour is gorgeous – but I love more other liquid lipsticks and right now I’m a sucker for uber matte finish.

Then I received to test Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Candy* (review). Honestly, it doesn’t bleed at all, at least on my lips. I read contrasting reviews about this product. Again, the key is to apply a little amount of product. It doesn’t dry out my lips and it lasts for several hours. Neither this one has a matte finish, though.

Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour* in three different colours were another press sample (review). The finish is satin, the texture extremely thin, comfortable to wear and hydrating on lips. The lasting power is really good but they’re not as tenacious as those extra-matte liquid lipsticks (of course).

Diego Dalla Palma Velvet Mat Liquid Lipstick in 109 Viola Cardinale was a gift for my lovely friend and fellow blogger Misato A Lost Girl. This guy is really top-notch. Thin texture, extra matte finish that makes your lips like velvet, lasts forever, it doesn’t bleed and the colour is stunning. So bad it was a limited edition.

Another similar product is from Giorgio Armani, Lip Maestro in 502 Art Deco. Same thin texture, extremely comfortable on lips, amazing pigmentagion, lasts forever but this time the finish is more creamy, satin. This product is available from ages and it is an old but gold cult beauty product. I wish it would come in more gorgeous colours like this one.

Liquid Lipsticks

The remaining liquid lipsticks are both from American brand unavailable here in Italy. There are those kind of recent, uber matte liquid lipsticks for velour lips. Obviously, there are a lot of hype around these products. The first one is from Anastasia Beverly Hills, one of the most recent launches, in Veronica. The colour is gorgeous, dark and 90’s so I was immediately sold. The texture is thin and easy to apply, not particularly drying but it takes ages to set and dry to a matte finish. Then the lasting power could be better: on me it lasts well only 4-5 hours and I expect a lot more for this kind of products (MAC matte lipsticks last a lot more on me).

The other one is the infamous Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita. The colour is a warm, natural rose with a strong earthy undertone. It may look a lot brownish depending on your colouring and undertones. On me it is a great my lips but better. The texture is the most thin from the bunch, it is almost weightless but the finish is velvet matte. It doesn’t deliver tons of colour so you can adjust better. It lasts well for about 6-7 hours without fading at the centre of the lips.

Liquid Lipsticks

For those of you who are wondering, Lolita and Veronica are different colours even if in the same colour family range. By the way, on lips they look more similar than on my hand. Veronica is cooler, darker, deeper but it has the same mix of rose, brown and mauve tones in it. I’m really glad for having both colours in my stash.

So, this is my liquid lipsticks collection. Do you have any? Do you like this kind of product?
