Mac massive Haul (Art of the Eye, Temperature Rising…)
Today is Mac Massive Haul day.
The other day was a sort of Machristmas. I received my haul by mail and then some goodies from the Mac Pro event Paint by Number from the recent collections: Pro Longwear Paint Pot (which are all permanent ), Fashion Sets, Art of the Eye, In Extra Dimension, Temperature Rising. An extremely rich spring for Mac!
I’ll show you everything with swatches and first impressions, please mind that I have all these things only since Wednesday so I can’t say a lot of words about them.
Let’s start with Art of the Eye, a collection based on eyes make up and inspired by Middle Eastern concept of beauty. Banafsaji eyeshadow called my name at once: it’s the perfect mix of dark blue and purple which goes so well with brown eyes. It is a complex shade that I could hardly catch in picture. It has a good colour payoff and finish is my favourite, veluxe pearl. Mac really surprised me with this colour, their limited edition eyeshadows at times lack of pigmentation (their permanent range is underrated imho). Another staple in this collection is Rimal Dahabia eyeshadow quad*: in this quad we find 4 great quality basic shades. We have Shroom, a satiny cream perfect for highlightning; Soft Brown, a peachy light brown which is “the” transitional colour for crease and blending other colours; Beautyburst, a warm, reddish brown which firsty came out with Barbie collection; Najm el Lail, a dark, deep cool brown. All four shades are well pigmented and easy to blend; I’m very glad that Mac put out great shades for a limited edition!

From the Fashion Sets I already have Heroine lisptick (review) and I really like all shades. But I wanted a matte fuchsia in my life so I ordered Embrace Me lipstick and now I am so, so happy I could get it. It is super bright and cool but not too much for my peach undertone; I wouldn’t call it neon tough, at least not like Candy Yum Yum. It is a “new generation” matte (softer than regular mattes), my favourite finish. Previously I couldn’t see myself with fuchsia lips, but matte lips change everything.

In Extra Dimension collection (in Italy it will hit stores in June but you can buy it already online) has always been attractive for me, since last year. The finish, quite jelly and wet, is so unique and amazingly soft. Firstly I wanted Definitely Defined skinfinish but I ended in getting Shape the Future, because I already have in my stash light highlighters and I wanted something more coloured. The lighter side is a light shimmery peachy-pink and the darker side is a coral-apricot. This skinfinish hasn’t gross glitters, the finish is metallic but not too artificial, it leaves an amazing sheen on skin and the shade is perfect for summer because it warms complexion in a beautiful way. For lighter skintones I recommend a light hand and a stippling brush.
The new Paint Pot range is called Pro Longwear. This one is my first Paint Pot so I can’t say how it’s different from regular line but I’m testing it right now and it doesn’t crease even after Insanity workout It is different from any other cream eyeshadow I own since it has a cream-to-powder finish. I chose Vintage Selection and it is really similar to my skintone in colour; it’s extremely shimmery and really brightens my eyes for a well rested and youthful look. I think it’s a great choice when you’re on the way and want somethig to perk you up.
Last but not least, Temperature Rising collection. Summer collection with special packaging, a deep bronze with matte and “soft” finish. My goodies are Soft Sand Bronzing Powder*, a very finely milled powder with teeny tiny shimmers which don’t look obvious on skin. I really like the colour because is perfect for fair skintones and doesn’t lead orange! Then I have False Lashes mascara* and is a waterproof one; it has a small and thick brush but I haven’t tried it yet. My last item from this collection is Rhytm lipglass*, well described as a vivid magenta violet. I’m not a lipgloss junkie but I like lipglass formula and this shade goes well with both Embrace Me and Heroine, plus Magenta lip liner is the perfect match!
