NARS Narsissist Dual Intensity Palette
I was a bit worried that it could be too late to write a review of NARS Narsissist Dual Intensity Palette. Anyway, it is still available both in Italy that at US Sephora even if it is marked as limited edition, so I decided to write down my thoughts about it. I spent many months drooling over it. I’ve read many reviews but I never ended up getting it. I’ve always been curious to try these new NARS Dual Intensity eyeshadow formula but they are so so pricey. I was always uncertain about which shade I should have bought. I really liked Himalia, Subra and Giove but I just couldn’t make up my mind. NARS Narsissit Dual Intensity Palette is quite a deal since it has all permanend shades. It is worth buying if you already like a couple of permanent shades or if you want to try the formula.
NARS Narsissit Dual Intensity Palette is sold at $78 / €55 and it contains 8 x 0.03 oz eyeshadows in Europa (gossamer pink peach), Himalia (shimmering topaz), Ursa Major (chocolate glaze), Subra (black orchid), Sycorax (black), Giove (navy), Lysithea (shark gray), Andromeda (alabaster). Plus, there is a travel size brush with natural bristles perfect for a wet&dry application.
The only eyeshadows I wasn’t impressed of were Sycorax and Lysithea. However with a big discount I couldn’t help buying it. In the end I’m glad I got it and I’m not regretting purchasing it. Getting all the shades I wanted at €40 was a big deal.
The NARS Dual Intensity formula is quite similar to Kiko Water Eyeshadow and MAC Extra Dimension. However there are some differences. NARS Dual Intensity formula is less powdery and thinner than Kiko one while it is less vibrant than MAC one. NARS Narsissit Dual Intensity Palette is supposed to be used wet&dry and the small brush included works really well for patting wet eyeshadows on. Nevertheless, all shades have a really good pigmentation even when applied dry.
I really appreciate the great variaty and balance among tones. There are no bright shades, though: all colours are natural or darkened. With this palette you can create a lot of neutral looks or stunning smoky eyes black, blue or plum based. The perfect balance between light and dark colours with a pop of colour. The only shade I don’t find really useful is Lysithea because I don’t particularly like grey/silver eyeshadows but it can look beautiful along with Sycorax for a sultry cool toned smoky eyes. You can see how these eyeshadows have great colour payoff from these bare swatches: dry application, single layer, no primer, no base.

I wish they could have a better lasting power, though. Without a primer they started creasing after 5-6 hours at high temperatures.
