Today’s review is about REN Hydra-Calm Youth Defence Serum. I’ve been using REN Hydra-Calm Youth Defence Serum since this spring and I switched to another facial serum only recently (July). As you previously saw in these posts

REN Hydra-Calm Youth Defence Serum has been a staple in my spring and summer skincare routines.

REN Hydra-Calm Youth Defence Serum was part of Hydra-Calm range. Recently they renew the line and now you’ll find all Hydra-Calm products under Evercalm range. It is the same range for sensitive skins. Sensitive skins are reactive, with a lot of redness, tight and blotchy skin. I have not a super sensitive skin but more a combination, acne prone skin. However, my skin is quite reactive, with some redness and blotchy even if not particularly tight nor dry.

Now you’ll find REN Hydra-Calm Youth Defence Serum as Evercalm Anti-Redness serum. This facial serum is formulated against aging due to environmental causes. Its claims are:

• reducing inflammation, redness and irritation
• strengthing the capillary walls
• boosting cell lifespan and hydration levels
• protecting cells, reducing UV induced inflammation and supporting good bacteria
• keeping skin looking younger for longer.

There are some differences among ingredients if compared to new REN Evercalm Anti-Redness serum but there are really minimal:

I’ve been using REN Hydra-Calm Youth Defence serum twice a day, in the morning and at night. During spring I used it under a daily moisturizer but since summer has started I skipped daily moisturizer and I’ve been using it alone as my only hydrating source. There are two ingredients I really like for my skin: hyaluronic acid and arnica extract. Plus, it is packed with super ligth oils like soybean oil and lingonberry oil which don’t break me out nor make my skin oily. As you can see, there are nourishing and hydrating ingredients so your skin will have all necessary supplies.

I can’t say if REN Hydra-Calm Youth Defence Serum does something effective against aging process but I can say how it is an amazing serum when it comes to grant skin’s hydration and nutrition. My skin was so deeply hydrated and souple that I didn’t need any other moisturizer. Its lightweight and non-oily texture is perfect for all those with combination or oily skin but still need a good amount of moisturizing.

I highly recommend to invest in a good facial serum, since it’s the most effective product for skin since it works in depth and not only on the surface.
