September 2015 Favourites: My Most Played
You may have noticed that I extended my publication schedule on my beloved Kenderasia. That is I started a new adventure as beauty editor at Modeyes.com magazine. I’m really happy about this new step forward, but that doesn’t mean that I want to put an end my blog. You know, I’ve always wanted to write on a magazine about my favourite topic, i.e. beauty, so I may keep Kenderasia focused on products, reviews etc., in a more personal style.
So, let’s go straight to the main topic: my September 2015 Favourites, aka my most played items for the #teammostplayed series (many kisses to GoldenVi0let!).
As you can see there are both new entries and old favourites.
You can immediately spot the brand new MAC Cosmetics Studio Waterweight Foundation*. You can read my previous first impressions here and I have to say that I confirm everything I said. It has an amazing lightweight texture and it doesn’t mark any dry flakes or enlarged pores. I’m using it almost every day and it became on of my all-time top foundation right away. I use the shade NW15.
I found that the best way to apply it is with a slanted brush with short bristles and a flat top. I didn’t get the new MAC 196 because I got the new Sephora Pro 83 which is pretty similar. This one has a very unique shape because it is slightly wavy and it has a little white hollow. It doesn’t leave any streak and you get a completely flawless result in less than a minute.
It makes a perfect combo with my beloved MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light. This is one of the best pressed powder out there: it is not chalky nor drying but it keeps my T-zone away from getting too oily. I’ve almost finished it but it will be a repurchase for sure!
These past days I kept my colours really understated but I’ve already started rocking on my super vampy looks so you will see some colour on next monthly post!
On my cheeks I re-discovered this old but gold Becca Beach Tint in Peach. I find it really flattering on my warm complexion thanks to its brick red undertone. This is one of the few cheek and lip colour that perform well on both cheeks and lips, actually. And it lasts forever.
On my lips I often chose a pretty nudeish lipstick. This one is from Rouge Bunny Rouge, Colour Burst Lipstick 027 Irreverence* (see the overview here). It keeps my lips hydrated without that ugly concealer effect.
Another old favourite is my Louis Young Essential Palette. I think this the best nude, multi-purpose palette out there. Such a shame that this is so underrated! These are all matte colours. You get one highlighting shade, two cool brown blending shades, one dark shade perfect as eyeliner and one warm terra-cotta shade perfect as a blush or to warm up the other shades. The quality is simply perfect: great pigmentation, high blendability, great to be mixed together, good lasting power.
Last but not least, my new love for eyebrows: MAC Cosmetics Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow Set in Bold Brunette. I already have full brows so I only need some definition. This gel is really waterproof and it gives me the perfect brows in no-time.
