Hi! Today I want to show you one of most famous Nars product from a new range: the Nars Satin Lip Pencil Luxembourg.
If you take a look in stores and online search results, you’ll see that Nars Satin Lip Pencil Luxembourg is one of the most beloved Nars products.
Previously in the Nars range there were also Velvet Matte Lip Pencil and Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil. Then Nars came out with a new Lip Pencil range between the two previous lines, in regard to the finish. Satin Lip Pencils provide full pigment maintaining a shiny finish.
Nars Satin Lip Pencil Luxembourg has a stunning, complex colour. On me – fair skin with warm pink / peach undertones, pigmented lips – Luxembourg is not a fuchsia as I read somewhere; I’d describe it as a cherry red with strong magenta undertones. It is really pigmented, you’ll get an opaque coverage with only one layer so you don’t have to build the colour such as with Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil. The colour is very bright and rich; it leasts for about 5-6 hours and when it fades after a meal it leaves a nice stain.
The finish is quite glossy – not really satin – on me and it’s the thing I like the least about Luxembourg just because I’m all for matte lips. Even if it’s creamy and shiny it doesn’t bleed so you don’t have to put another lip liner underneath.
The packaging is not really worthwhile since you have to sharpen, therefore an amount of product goes to waste. Nevertheless I have to say that you can use the Satin Lip Pencil at least 7 times before sharpening.
I think that Nars Satin Lip Pencil Luxembourg is the perfect balanced mix between red and pink and I can highly recommend it if you like bright, shiny lips.
As you can see from the picture above I made some comparisons with similar colours: Luxembourg is the glossy version of MAC Moxie which appear less complex because of its matte finish. Luxembourg is really similar also to Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Dragon Girl which is only slightly redder.
