Top 5 Spring Summer Lip Products
Or I’d rather say Avant-garde post. It’s always a blogging classic to pick up some shades that suits the current season, isn’t it? Though not terrific original, I think that I could write some more of this kind of posts, it’s a sort of personal round-up self-reminder and it’s always a pleasure to read something like this: you can get some inspirations and it’s always about colours. Nevertheless Kenderasia is all about beauty and colours 🙂
Top 5 Spring Summer Lip Products
As I said, nothing original here. In my defence I can swear I not only wear corals and pinky-reds during spring and summer! You know, I really love dark and deep shades and I wear them all year round. But definitely those shades above scream Sunny Days loudly and I can’t help to listen to their call.
Let’s start with my Top 5 Spring Summer Lip Products!
- MAC Cosmetics Party Parrot (see also here): extremely bold coral, a bright warm pink with a lot of red in it. Or maybe a red with a touch of warm pink? On my lips it goes really warm so I consider it member of coral family. Surprisingly comfortable on lips for a matte. Unfortunately it was a limited edition from Strength collection (previously it was launched with Iris Apfel collection. Recently MAC came out with a lot of similar shades, you can try Relentlessly Red which is permanent or, if you’re on a budge, give a try to Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in 210 Unapologetic. They’re really similar aren’t they?
- YSL Glossy Stain Vernis à lèvres n°12 Corail Fauve (see also here): the infamous hybrid between a gloss and a stain. It’s my favourite product for summery lips: it’s fuss-free, doesn’t stick and last all day. Perfect coral with more pink in it than orange. I’d also describe it as a watermelon red.
- Nars Satin Lip Pencil Luxenbourg (see also here): it’s quite strange but I feel like wearing this colour only on sunny days unlike other brights (I like wearing them on winter or during gloomy days to create a sort of contrast). Maybe because it’s shiny and I am more a matte lips gal but it rarely comes to my mind unless the sun shines brightly. Gorgeous balance between pink and red, it is described as a vivid watermelon. On me it’s a berry red with a fuchsia base.
- Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm n°210 Unapologetic: as I said above it’s really similar to MAC Party Parrot, in the swatches they may appear slightly different but it’s more of a light issue. I’ve been really surprised but these chubby pencils! This is a great colour which stays put for about 5 and then it starts fading leaving a nice stain. I have a little issue with its texture: if you don’t pay attention it tends to settle into lip lines. Personally I like to work it a little bit with a brush or – if I’m in a hurry – pat it on lips in order to obtein a ‘just kissed’ effect.
- Laura Mercier Lip Glacé (unlabeled)*: such a pity I don’t know what colour it is! You know that I don’t like glosses but this Laura Mercier Lip Glacé changed my mind! Texture is lightweigth and not sticky at all despite the fact it’s very pigmented and kinda bright even if it’s a milky warm pink. It is also slightly moisturizing. Juicy blossoming lips without efforts.
